When the Portrait Matters

Some family portraits capture a moment.

Others become part of a family’s history.

The Majestic Immediate Family Portrait Collection is designed for families who want a more complete portrait experience built around significant wall artwork, careful planning, professional retouching, and finished portraits created for prominent display in the home.

This is not simply a collection with more pictures. It is designed to create portraits with presence.

The 1882 Portrait and the Idea Behind Majestic

A family portrait made in 1882 hangs in our studio. The portrait includes three generations. Everyone shown is gone today, yet the photograph still connects their family nearly 150 years later.

Just as important, the family preserved a roster identifying the people in the portrait and explaining how they were related. Without that record, many of those faces might eventually have become unknown.

Together, the portrait and roster preserved more than an image. They preserved a family story.

That experience changed how we think about important family portraits and helped shape the Majestic Collection.

Creating a Family Record Going Forward

Majestic families may choose to document names, relationships, dates, locations, or other meaningful family information alongside their finished portrait.

The goal is not to recreate the past.

It is to create a lasting portrait now — then provide future generations with enough information to understand who the people were and why the portrait mattered.

Families may also consider our 1882 Studio Portrait style, inspired by classic family portraiture.

This more formal approach is especially appropriate for families seeking a portrait with dignity, permanence, and heirloom character.

Every Majestic Portrait Package Includes:

• Planning assistance before the session

• Clothing and color coordination guidance

• In-studio or outdoor portrait options

• Image review on the back-of-the-camera during the session when helpful

• Professional hand retouching on ordered portraits

• Assistance selecting artwork for your home

• A mounted wall portrait designed for long-term display

Professional Retouching

Our goal is not to change how your family looks. Professional finishing removes distractions while preserving natural expressions, realistic skin tones, and individual character.

Retouching may include attention to flyaway hair, glasses glare, clothing wrinkles, minor blemishes, teeth brightness, and other small distractions.
